Vibram sole

The Vibram sole

De Niro produces their riding boots with a special Vibram sole. DeNiro developed a special technique to produce these soles. Within this technique, multiple layers of a variety of materials combine together. Firstly, the top layer consists of a  5.5mm thick leather footbed. Secondly, the layer below consists of the sole of active carbon material. Thirdly, DeNiro places a layer of shock-absorbing material, and lastly a water-resistant sole at the bottom. Stitching these four layers together creates a solid and comfortable sole. Altogether, this ensures optimal comfort and a perfect combination of materials.

The heel of the De Niro riding boots consists of a water-resistant heel, placed on a rubber heel protector. This heel connects to the sole. As the last step, these are stitched or glued to the bottom of the boot or shoe.

The combination of these materials results in a sole that characterizes as breathing, antibacterial, shock-absorbing. All De Niro riding boots contain the Vibram-sole. The well-known brand Ariat also applies the Vibram technique within the production of their boots.

Other techniques

Next to the Vibram outer sole of the De Niro riding boots, De Niro also uses a WRAT technology for the leather that is used for the rest of the boot. Read a lot more about this technique in our blog.
