The Salento model
The Salento model has a classic and traditional overall look. This model features a zipper in the back, which is lined with an elastic panel. The Salento model is made of soft Italian calf leather, ensuring great comfort and a perfect fit. This slim fieldboot is designed to be the perfect jumping boot and it is also very suitable for younger riders. Salento boots are always equipped with the DeNiro Titan zipper, a Vibram sole, and a top and bottom zip protector. The Salento boot is customizable to a dressage or a field boot, but it always features its distinguished Salento top shape. This model offers a high level of durability and comfort, due to the soft and supple high-quality Italian calf leather. Like any other De Niro tall boot, this model is handcrafted by skilled artisans and Italian bootmaking experts at the De Niro Boot Co. factory in Casarano, near Lecce, in the South of Italy. There, the boots are also subject to a rigorous quality control process

Warranty WRAT (matte) leather
These boots are (mostly) made in matte WRAT leather. Since this leather is very durable, this boot qualifies for the standard DeNiro warranty policy.

I have always been a difficult fit in tall boots. Even if I found boots that would fit my 16-16.5 inch calves off the rack, they would gap horribly at the knee and generally also be baggy at the ankle. I expressed my concerns to Janneke who was able to recommend a boot model based on my needs and then even saved me money by saying a custom knee size (so semi custom) should fit fine instead of going fully custom. She sent the measurement sheet and after some hiccups with shipping – apparently PO Boxes cause issues – I had boots that fit right out of the box and looked and felt amazing. These were day one in my boots, they were delivered between rides so I slid them right on and got on another horse!

My boots arrived a few weeks ago, but I did not get the chance to ride in them until last week. I am currently in college, and I wanted to wait to break them in until I had the whole week off from school and could ride my own horse every day. Anyway, I am in love with my boots! I’m short and still have the calves from my gymnastics days, so I am a pretty difficult fit. These boots are the first ones I’ve tried on that are not too tall. And they are just gorgeous! They also seem to be pretty sturdy. I was considering getting a custom pair of Parlantis, but I am glad I didn’t. I think these will last much longer, and they were significantly cheaper (which I greatly appreciate as I do not have a full-time job yet). I also really loved that the knee could be customized. Every pair of boots I have had or tried on is gappy at the knee for me. But these boots fit my entire leg, not just the calf. I will definitely be ordering another pair so that I will have one pair for schooling and one pair for showing. It won’t be for a little bit because my current schooling boots still have some life left in them, but expect an order from me in the future! ? I also wanted to say that I really appreciate that you have a video on YouTube on how to clean the boots. It was so helpful! Thank you again for being such a great company to work with!

Ordered these boots a while ago and received them yesterday, after only 6 weeks of waiting. I am very happy with how they look and feel. They fit me perfectly and the elastic panel in the back makes them extra comfortable. Can’t wait to start schooling my jumping horses in these lovely new boots!
